Healing Partners IllustrationHealing Partners
is a community- service program that pairs women diagnosed with breast cancer with Healing Touch provider volunteers.

Living Strong, Living Well
a strength and fitness program for cancer patients and survivors to improve vitality and reduce fatigue.

Both programs above are offered free to participating cancer patients.

lynn westphal, MD, Director, Women's Health, a multi-disciplinary program within the School of Medicine, based in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, is dedicated to enhancing the health of women through the integration of biomedical and social science, by way of interdisciplinary, collaborative efforts, from a sex/gender-differentiated perspective. We are committed to expanding and fostering translational research by integrating basic, clinical and population science; as well as being a leader in women's health medical and community education programs.

The Women's Health Program is pleased to provide access to new e-journal clubs . . . allowing medical personnel a convenient opportunity to learn about Women's Health across a variety of medical disciplines.

This month's feature from the Cardiovascular Sex Differences E-Journal Club, produced by Jennifer Tremmel, MD, is an assessment of Impact of Impaired Fasting Glucose on Cardiovascular Disease.  The focus is not so much on CVD, but on performing sex subgroup differences analyses.  While this article evaluates genetic association studies, the points raised are worth considering when doing any subgroup analysis of sex differences.Please click on the article and the analysis to access the documents related to this most recent feature. The Littlefield Women's Health Public Forum

The final Littlefield Women's Health Public Forum for the academic year takes place
Thursday, May 8th, with a presentation by Renee Reijo Pera, Ph.D. on the topic of "Implications of Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research on Women's Health". The talk takes place at the Arrillaga Alumni Center, on the Stanford Univeristy campus, from 6:30 pm - 7:45 pm. This is a free seminar open to the general public.While not required an RSVP is appreciated.
